Welcome to web hosting in 2008 !

We would like to thank everyone for a great 2007. We also thank our users for the input of the new features you would like to see. Our chat system has been updated to make our web hosting gurus more available. We will be providing more company information, more reviews and more information about web hosting then ever before. We welcome your questions, which is what we are all about. We are here to answer your web hosting questions.

What are the new web hosting trends for 2008 ? who’s going to a greener data center ? Who will be merging companies and switching partnerships ? How will web hosting, email phishing, 3rd party applications, value added services, AJAX and Web 2.0 evolve? How do all these changes affect you as a customer and end users of web hosting services ? What new ideas and programs have Microsoft and Google released into the BETA stages and ready to almost roll out for production ?

We will be answering more of your web hosting questions than ever this year ! Use our chat program, or send us an email with any question you may have. We will answer your question and post it on our site to share with others.

We are working with hosting companies to provide valuable coupons for new customers, adding new hosting company information, and adding report cards. Yes, that’s right! Want to know what issues a past customer had ? Want to know the growth of of a company and how long the have been in business ? Want to see who has the best offers ? Who has the tools you need to succeed online ?  Who has the best data center uptime ?

Additionally, we will provide technical information about web site design. We have been around for over four years… Here’s to another great year !

I have been in the technical industry for over 10 years, I love to help everyday users to advanced users learn how technology affects them and what they are trying to accomplish. I have written programs for companies where technology can help its end users work smarter not harder. I created betterwebservices.com as a way to give people the information they need to find the right web hosting for today and for tomorrow. Check out my other sites solarblu.net and solarbluseth.com and find out why i call my self the web hosting guru ! For entertainment check out popassault.com where me and some pals lock, load and fire on pop culture.

SingleHop Tech Cocktail 3

SingleHop Tech Cocktail 3

January 27, 2007 By: solarbluseth Category: Betterwebservices.com News, IT Events 2 Comments →

SingleHop.com was the main sponsor of Tech Cocktail 3 at the Amira in the CBS building in Chicago this week and it was off the hook! Singlehop.com was the main sponsor of the event with a raffle for anyone in the raffle to receive a free month of dedicated server hosting and the winner to receive 3 free months! They had girls with shirts on with the slogan printed on the them “It takes balls to sell servers this low.” There were a few other hosting companies there.

They had green lighted ice sculptures of their iconic frog Poindexter, who was made into a martini luge. They were the strongest apple martinis I have ever had. They were poured into green illuminated martini glasses. The girls were collecting raffle tickets for the raffle and giving out green gumball’s. There was also an open bar all night thanks to Singlehop.com and midphase.com

Zak Boca president of Singlehop.com states “We’re fortunate to be in the position to where we can be involved as sponsors in the local Chicago technology events, and we’re happy to give back to the community. We’re also glad to see that our services are well received at events such as Tech Cocktail, and our goal really is simple. We don’t go in with a target ROI in mind- we do want to generate sales, but we value the relationships that we’re building at the events that we’ve been sponsoring, whether that’s from a business development standpoint, or new customers that we’re able to provide our management services to.”

And Dan Ushman co-owner of midphase.com states “We were very proud to sponsor the third Tech Cocktail. With over 700 people showing up, I think it is safe to say the event was a great success for the Chicago technology community. It was nice shake hands with so many of our friends and customers.”

We at solarblu.net and betterwebservices.com were proud to be there and meet new people and reacquaint ourselves with people we have met in the industry in the last year. We are proud to be hosted with singlehop.com and have never experienced unscheduled downtime. We have been with them and their parent company now into our 2nd year! More about our anniversary in a few weeks.

Blog Update, IP Banning and tutorials oh my!

September 20, 2006 By: solarbluseth Category: Betterwebservices.com News Comments Off

I spent most of the day Saturday and Sunday updating the wordpress blog to my own theme. All the divs and css in the world couldn’t help me straighten it out. Who has an easy to use tutorial on how to customize your own wordpress theme? I would love a copy. Or maybe I should make one, if I see a high enough demand. Anyway….
I spent a good two weeks on a ip banning script. Seems some robots are scanning the site to steal all the plan information that i spend so much time putting together. I pride myself on having the most accurate information about web hosting plans and trying to provide the best tutorials regarding design and webhosting. It really bothers me that I spend most of my time updating and verifying the plans and working ont he site that a robot just comes by and steals all the information in a matter of seconds. So i setup a GD Lib verification system. If you view 10 plans it asks you to enter in the visual code. I know this may affect some users but… It speeds up the site performance and keeps my hard earned data mine.
Let me know if you have questions that you think we should put into a tutorial for other webhosting customers with similar questions. I am rolling out the tutorials in a few weeks. Hopefully 10 a week is my goal. I had to take care of a few issues with my site before i spent my time putting them together.

If you hate or love your hsoting company please review them so other people will know what kind of experience you had with your hosting company. This site is mainly to help people pick the correct hosting plan, and to find tutorials to help them out with their site.

Thanks for visiting.
